BBL Acne Laser Treatment
Sciton BBL™ is a FDA approved treatment that uses a blue filter to target the p-acnes bacteria that are partially responsible for acne in the skin. A red filter helps to reduce redness and deeper acne lesions. And a third filter is used to minimize sebaceous gland activity associated with oil production.
BBL BroadBand Light technology uses the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent phototherapy results. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, our physician can treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. The light energy delivered by the BBL gently heats the upper layers of the skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas coagulates tissue to variable depth. This process helps restore the skin to its natural state. In addition, the photothermal energy targets and eliminates many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.
After treatment is completed, some patients may experience slight redness and minimal swelling of the acne, and surrounding skin for 1-2 days.
